Galvanised T-angle iron with stainless steel screw for connection of earthing cables
Practical tip
Test sequence to check earthing:
Create a short circuit by placing iron stakes in the ground about 100 m from the device and leaning them against the fence wires. This should cause the fence voltage to drop to 2000 volts.
Take the digital voltmeter and insert the earth pin into the ground about 1 m from the last earth pin of the energiser. Press the measuring contact of the digital voltmeter onto the last earth rod of the device.
The digital voltmeter now displays the voltage on the earthing system when the energiser is switched on.
0 to 200 volts (0.2 kV value): your earthing system is perfect.
200 to 600 volts (0.2 kV to 0.6 kV value): Your earthing is still acceptable.
Above 600 volts: Your earthing should be improved by installing additional and possibly longer earth pins.
This will increase the voltage and safety of your fence.
