Beet pulp is a byproduct of the sugar beet industry. After the juice and sugar are extracted from the beets, the pulp remains. This is dried and then pressed into pellets.
CAUTION!!! Beet pulp pellets should always be soaked in hot or cold water for a minimum of 12 hours first.
Beet pulp is a source of highly digestible fiber, low in sugar and starch. This certainly benefits the horse's digestion.
Because the beet pulp is soaked in water, this product is also great for older horses or horses with poor teeth. Beet pulp comes in two physical forms, shredded and pelleted.
